The cottage gardens adorn our new tool and potting shed. Camellias and semi-shade hydrangeas adorn the north side while sun-loving roses, shrubs and perennials enjoy the sun from the west. Benches on the river side of the shed give you a spot to sit and enjoy the view. Our work space behind the shed is planted with evergreen shrubs to shield lake visitors from seeing this work area.
Whimsical stepping stone paths lead from the main paver path into our collections of phlox, butterfly bushes, native coreopsis, Liatris, roses and more. Plant name markers allow visitors to learn the names of the plants and beautiful rose bushes donated by Jackson & Perkins and David Austin Roses. Visitors can enjoy a quiet moment on the bench next to the shed, which overlooks the Rocky Broad River. The gardens also feature several whimsical elements, such as birdhouses, insect nesting boxes, and an antique garden gate donated by Sunnee Clark.
