AUDIO AND SENSORY CELL PHONE TOUR

The Flowering Bridge created and dedicated an auditory and sensory cell phone tour of the Bridge in 2016. Seventeen stops along the way provide information about the different gardens on display. Visually impaired guests can enjoy the Bridge by hearing the descriptions of each area and by smelling and touching the different flowers.

The local Lake Lure Lion’s Club joined the Flowering Bridge and provided a lion’s head fountain dedicated to Helen Keller that encourages visitors to hear and feel the water from the fountain. There are other water features to feel and hear along the way.

If you listen carefully, you can also hear doves and Canada Geese, ducks and other waterfowl in the area.

Chimney Rock Mgt., LLC, operators of Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park, is proud to be the sponsor of the tour.

I wanted to thank you for your hard work and efforts in making our Deaf/Blind event this summer a huge success! Many of the consumers were so grateful and excited to see/feel/smell and learn about the beautiful gardens.
