PLAN YOUR VISIT

In September 2024, Hurricane Helene forever changed the landscape of the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge gardens. The old bridge sustained unprecedented structural damage, was deemed unsafe for pedestrian use, and has been closed to the public. Currently, there are small garden areas on both the west and east ends that are open; however, there is no structure connecting these two ends. Parking is very limited on both ends.

We advise visitors to exercise extreme caution when in the area, as the building and parking lot construction is not complete and the river’s edge is not stable.

HOURS & COST

The gardens are open every day throughout the year, and there is never an admission charge. However, we are sustained by donations. To make an online donation, visit our Donation page. There is a donation box near the Education building. We appreciate your gifts that keep our flowers growing.

ACCESSIBILITY

For your own safety, please stay on all paved walkways. Outside of these walkways the terrain may be unstable, and we want to ensure no one is injured while visiting. The gardens are dog-friendly; however, dogs must be leashed at all times. Please be considerate and pick up after your pet.
